Laura Sadowsky

Sr. Architectural Historian

Laura Sadowsky is a Senior Architectural Historian with over five years of previous experience at the Iowa State Historic Preservation Office. Laura has worked on a variety of projects as an architectural historian and a state reviewer. These projects include surveys and evaluations of eligibility, historic context development, National Register nominations, tax credits, and the development of architectural guidelines for the state of Iowa. Additionally, she possesses extensive knowledge of the history and architectural styles of the Midwest and Great Plains. She is currently pursuing a PhD in History at Iowa State University, with a focus on environmental history, encompassing landscapes, the built environment, and the natural environment. Her studies have deepened her understanding of U.S., Indigenous, and Great Plains history.
