Preserving Wisconsin’s Civic Legacy

Wisconsin
The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Midwest Office sought to develop materials for local municipalities in Wisconsin to guide their rehabilitation or reuse of local government-owned properties.
Scope
We created a booklet featuring successful case studies of building restoration and reuse to inspire and support community preservation efforts across Wisconsin. The booklet includes information on rehabilitation costs, funding sources, challenges and resolutions, and the impact that rehabilitation or reuse has on a community.
Outcome
The booklet has been, and continues to be, a valuable tool for municipalities seeking options to reuse and rehabilitate their government-owned buildings.
